This time around, UNR 9.10 is distributee as an ISO, so no more .img burning. Shame imo, really.

Seriously, no desktop switcher? I'm leaning towards sticking with Jaunty UNR until Lucid UNR arrives. I like having both interfaces.

Slow boot time with super talent ssd? this fix took me a while find so since this site helped me so much I figured I should post the fix here.

TEMPORARY WORK AROUND FOR THIS PROBLEM:

1. sudo gedit /lib/udev/rules.d/95-devkit-disks.rules

2. locate the following lines (about 1/3 the way into the file; search for "smart")

# ATA disks driven by libata
KERNEL=="sd*[!0-9]", ATTR{removable}=="0", ENV{ID_BUS}=="ata", ENV{DEVTYPE}=="disk", IMPORT{program}="devkit-disks-probe-ata-smart $tempnode"

3. comment out the second line by adding a # in front, so you should have

# ATA disks driven by libata
#KERNEL=="sd*[!0-9]", ATTR{removable}=="0", ENV{ID_BUS}=="ata", ENV{DEVTYPE}=="disk", IMPORT{program}="devkit-disks-probe-ata-smart $tempnode"

4. save the file and reboot

First, Love the site, I use this page for any and all of my 9`s mods.

Do you or any one else know how to fix choppy flash (hulu)? I ran the "top" command, and saw that while flash video is running, and the cpu starts running up over 100+%, that's when the video starts chopping.

Im running Karmic and I've upgraded the wifi card to the Motorola 5100 card connecting to a draft-n d-link router running in g&n mode.

Just hoping someone can offer some suggestions.

Thanks!

warrior,

Install the latest version of Flash, overrride gpu validation and turn off Compiz.

Besides those fixes it's really a programming issue. Flash is programmed poorly and is too cpu intensive.

The guides can be found here: http://www.ubuntumini.com/2008/09/general-ubuntu-guides.html

Like I previously stated, my 9 has the Motorola Wifi 5100 and is connecting to a D-link 802.11n AP. When the router is in mixed G&N mode, every thing works fine.

But the funny thing is when I config it to run in N mode only, the general web page loading, actually takes longer. I tried loading a page with it in the mixed mode, and timed it. Than the same in N only mode. And it actually does take longer in N only.

I thought draft-n was supposed to be faster?

Any thoughts?
